At the northern end of the promenade at Douglas is the terminus for the horse drawn trams. Here the horses are un-harnessed so that the tram can return back southwards along the promenade towards the ferry port.

This is also the terminus for the electric railway, but in the other direction.The electric railway runs from here north to Ramsey, stopping at Laxey, where you can change trains to board the Snaefell Mountain railway. The trains pass through some fantastic scenery and are very popular with visitor to the island.
