Castletown, Isle of Man
Castletown used to be the capital of the Isle of Man. The little town is built around Castle Rushen, which is a14th century castle, now restored. You can pay to visit the castle, which has many displays depicting life as it used to be in those days for the Kings and Lords of Man.
The town has a picturesque harbour and a small, pedestrianised shopping area. There are a few museums in the area, which all tell the story of the past of the Isle of Man. You may be more fascinated to know that Castletown is home to the annual World Tin Bath Racing Championships. Vital knowledge, with which to amaze and astound your friends.
